Yonasda Lonewolf- Afro-Indigenous Activist, Author and Community Organizer

A queen in the most powerful sense…a queen like Nzinga, like Makeda, like Amina… One who visions and leads… Yonasda Lonewolf is the daughter of Waunette Lonewolf - renowned Oglala Lakota healer and peacemaker.

Both African American and Native, Yonasda draws from the deep healing, artistry, and sense of community indigenous to both heritages.

Most recently her mother’s words and Spirit have helped Yonasda navigate her way through as she battles lung cancer.

Yonasda is a talented poet and musical artist who came of age with the Hip Hop generation, informed by the legacy of struggle which birthed her at the height of the America Indian Movement.

She is of the most principled of human beings…impeccable with both her words and commitment to Black and Indigenous liberation. Her word is bond and righteousness is more important than money. She is a devoted friend and mother, without sacrificing the essence of her being.

@queenyonasda is a divine Black woman.

In DC, this is the long-held work of the #FreeDC movement and Black Washingtonians who have always resisted, never submitting to their own oppression.
